Self-Deliverance Prayer: Praying for Yourself
Sometimes you can't get to a minister, but you need prayer tonight. This is a self-deliverance prayer you can pray for yourself, in your own room, in your own voice.
You do not have to wait for a minister to begin praying for your own freedom. Every believer has the authority of Jesus's Name. The prayer below is a model for self-deliverance — pray it alone, out loud, in your own room.

Self-Deliverance Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, I belong to You. I was made by the Father, redeemed by Your blood, and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Today I take my place as Your child.
I confess every sin I have committed and ask You to wash me clean by Your blood. I renounce every agreement I have made with sin and lies. I forgive every person who has hurt me and release them to You.
In the Name of Jesus, I command every spirit that is not from God to leave me now. Go where Jesus sends you. You have no right to me. I belong to Jesus.
Holy Spirit, fill me with Your peace, joy, love, and truth. Set me free, Lord. Teach me how to walk in this freedom day by day.

How to pray this
- Find a private space. Lock the door if you need to.
- Read the prayer through silently once.
- Then pray it out loud, slowly, with conviction.
- Stay where you are for 5 minutes afterward, quiet, journaling what you sense.
- Plan to pray it again tomorrow.
Praying alone, but not in isolation
Self-deliverance prayer is real, biblical, and good — but it works best when it is not the only thing. Pair it with honest confession, with scripture, and with at least one person who knows what you are walking through. Scripture keeps putting confession and healing side by side for a reason (James 5:16). Begin where you are, then bring someone in.
If the same struggle returns
The pattern of self-deliverance is rarely one-prayer. Repeat it daily for 30 days. If at the end of 30 days you sense some shift but still need help, reach out for a one-on-one session. If you sense nothing has moved, also reach out — sometimes a trained intercessor can hear what you cannot from inside your own situation.
